Tories Cold On Gay Kissing

David Cameron has unquestionably modernised official Conservative party attitudes towards gay and lesbian Britain – in many ways one of the most important parts of the detoxification of the party brand, as it represents a social and cultural message beyond politics itself. The attitudes of his own voters in the country at large, however, will take longer to win round.  Click here.

An increasing number of gay male students have also taken to the web in the past several years searching for wealthy benefactors. While young gay men exchanging sex for money certainly predated the financial collapse, recent events have pushed some students to consider engaging in risky behavior that in more robust economic times might have been unthinkable, according to several owners of websites that broker such hook-ups.  Click here.

Gay at Baylor: A Christian Challenge By Mark Osler

This past October, I wrote a piece in The Huffington Post entitled "Repentance of an Anti-Gay Bigot." Among the dozens of responses I received were many from my former law students at Baylor University, where I taught for 10 years. They were heart-wrenching, revealing the pain of attending Baylor in fear of being found out and expelled because they are gay; of isolating themselves from their classmates; and ultimately their alienation from Baylor and even Christianity. His suicide sparked national discussion about bullying.  Ravi's lawyers say they believe M.B. has information that could help their client's case but they don't know his name.

Eye Candy of the Eve.

Eye Candy of the Afternoon

Barbecued Eggplant with Miso Glaze

Sometimes, the dish that stands out in a great meal isn't the entrĂ©e or even the dessert. In my experience, the taste that lingers on the palate (and in my memory) is the very first bite I take. At the Ember Room, a restaurant in Midtown Manhattan, that was a deceptively simple plate of barbecued eggplant that tasted like it had been slow-roasted for hours. Its flavors were so perfect that I had to speak to chef Ian Chalermkittichai about his creation. Chef Ian, a Bangkok native, revealed that the secret of this elegant dish is that it's broiled in the oven, the direct heat source from above providing a heavy, steady heat that both tenderizes the eggplant and caramelizes its sweet-savory miso glaze. Click here. (From Bratprince:  I don't always want to recreate the dishes I present on the BLOG...but this one...DEFINITELY...I am planning it as a side dish for an upcoming dinner party....however, my advice is to ALWAYS cook something first before you have guests...however, I can tell this will be a showstopper side dish!)
