Songs in the Key of Survival

Whether it’s blasting on a dance floor or whispering through headphones, music rallies our spirits in times of adversity. The New York Times noted that during and after the recent rash of suicides by gay young adults, musicians like Katy Perry, Ke$ha, and Pink provided relief with inspirational anthems. And now we've learned that the title track to Gaga's upcoming album, Born This Way, is an unabashed anthem for the LGBT community. Stirred by these artists -- and others -- we came up with our ultimate playlist of gayinspirational songs.  Click here.

Out With The Old, In With The New, by Bratprince

As you may have noticed, the "interesting, fun, yawn" bar has been removed from each post.  Unfortunately, it was not a stable judge of what was happening on the blog.  A person could click "interesting" and someone else could come behind them and unclick it.  Sadly, I had a reader that made a habit of it.  I would have six "interestings" about a post and after the reader was done it would be down to two.

Therefore, I discontinued that feature.  However, I have added a new and fun feature that tracks the most popular posts on the BLOG.  Frankly, I have found it amazing.  Two of the most popular posts dealt with the suicide of the Shah of Iran's son.  I didn't even think people read them...let alone know that they were popular.  The "Most Popular" posts is on the right side under the feeds.  Not only will you get to see what people are interested in...you can click on the post and go back in time on the BLOG to see what it is all about.

I hope you like the new feature and as always....my thanks for being a loyal supporter of the BLOG!!!

Yours, Bratprince

Vanessa makes a fascinating discovery about her great great grandfather.

(From Bratprince:  My family is from the South....thus, obviously they fought on the wrong side of the Civil War.  Among my records is an interesting document.  Apparently, my great great (or something like that) grandfather died during the war and his wife was paid $375 in Confederate (worthless later) dollars in compensation for his death.  I am not proud that we owned slaves and fought for the South, but I do find the document interesting and it is framed and hung in my hallway due to love of history..good and bad).
