Today as I was making sure the blog had content to please my readers I thought what a strange thing a blog is.
Blogging is very self-indulgent activity! You get to choose what you post, when and why. I don't spend as much time on Facebook anymore because of the restrictions of the site itself and the fact that I had a few "Facebook Friends" that felt I was pushing the envelope and I didn't want them to complain and get me kicked off (I still enjoy Facebook).
However, I have really enjoyed being able to completely control my content and even advertise (yes..they are VERY gay ads...but guys...I'm gay as if the world didn't know)!!
I so enjoyed putting together the TOP TWENTY FIVE MOVIE list and had just as much fun with the TOP TWENTY ONE MOST STYLISH WOMEN of all time. I'm really looking forward to next week when we start The TOP TWENTY FASHION DESIGNERS of ALL TIME.
When I started all of this I wondered to myself; "Who on EARTH will care enough to read the blog?" Wow, have I been surprised!! We are close to 10,000 readers! Hundreds read the blog everyday! That just amazes me. I try for the blog to be a little something for everyone. I have some great feeds..great posts...and of course the BEST eye candy. In addition, I try to protect my straight readers by keeping all explicit material at the bottom of the page. You can enjoy the blog without having to look at those types of ads....you get plenty of warnings.
I am really excited that two of my readers have agreed to become contributors to the blog. It means that you...my readers...get a different perspective and different ideas. My dear, dear friend T.B. will be writing half of the essays on The Top Twenty Designers and I am hopeful that M.H. will find a topic that he wishes to discuss that fits in with the blog style.
Perhaps blogging is a bit self centered, but I have truly found it to be an interesting and fun experience and cannot begin to thank the almost 10,000 people that have supported it.
