Review: 'The Princess and the Frog'

The hand-drawn animated Disney film set in jazz-soaked 1920s New Orleans is a refreshing, lively version of the fairy tale.

  1. First review I've seen ... I like what I'm hearing. I miss the older "2-D" style. Pixar does the computer stuff well, but in just about all other hands (I guess with the exception of Shrek) it seems kind of "dead" to me. There's something about the hand-drawn animation .. when it's done really well as in the Disney classics ... that communicates character. The drawings live ... in a way computer models often do not. Hopefully this one will do well and encourage Disney to do more of the type of animation they're best at.
