I'm still amazed at how many emails and positive responses I get to stories about the little cat that moved in. He has the honor of being perhaps the favorite part of the blog right now.
As I write, he has discovered the laundry basket and is dosing away on top of clothes. I'm sort of wishing he wouldn't do that, but I get tired of telling him no. He has pretty much learned to stay off the kitchen table, the dining room table and the counters....so...if the laundry basket makes him happy today...oh well...let him have his space.
We had Gary's brother and sister/plus brother-in-law (sister and BIL live in San Diego and are visiting for Xmas) over for breakfast this morning. Gary made a simply splendid frittata. We always try to make things nice for his sister because she hosted our wedding in CA. almost two years ago. She put on an amazing spread and "did-it-up-right".
I was worried that they would not get to see Astrid and that he would hide. Our 17 year old cat, Karma (that by the way looks almost exactly like Astrid) does not like strangers and will NEVER make an appearance.
Not Astrid. Mr. Cat knew the perfect time to enter. We were all munching on frittata in the living room when Astrid walked in...looked around and chose the most prominent place to sit in the living room. He preened and showed off the whole time. Damn little cat knows exactly how to make an entrance and when. He takes after his daddy (me).
Astrid knows he is a little star and takes advantage of it. He loves the attention he gets and I think in some way knows that he is a beautiful cat and milks it for all the praise he can get.
From three days on the porch waiting to be let in to taking over the "fame" of the house. Gotta love him. He is MY kind of cat!!!!
