I have not actually blogged in some time, but here is my take on The State of The Union and Obama

I don't know guys and gals. I wasn't very impressed by the State of the Union Address by President Obama.

Although he called the nation "strong"...as has every president in the last many years...I'm not sure he proved his point.

It worries me that a Democrat President cannot seem to get the Democratic House and Senate to work with him.

I call this the "before your time" syndrome. Most people are unaware that JFK could get very few bills passed through Congress. I think they were angry that he "stepped ahead before his time". With only four years in the Senate...and no major political office on his resume', I am thinking that Congress is jealous and petty. They are not willing to help him even though he is from their own party.

Don't get me wrong. I think Obama has made a myriad of mistakes and frankly is rather dull. His wife has a 40% higher approval rating than the President himself.

I wonder what is causing this. Fatigue...voter infuriating...misguided bail out packages.....what could it be?

The health care package is failing. Congress is waffling on a jobs bill...nothing seems to be working for Obama...aside from the fact that he speaks like a college professor and generally bores the populace.

What we need right now is a "populist" president. It took time for them both but Ronald Reagan and Bill Clinton became populist, centralized and relatively bipartisan. That Bill Clinton was able to do so under such scandal is amazing...however...this was the Democratic President that reformed welfare to the delight of his opposition.

Obama in his speech blamed a lot of people for the problems of the country. In my humble opinion he was more partisan than any present on record during his State of the Union speech. He blamed...put it upon others, etc.

This man needs to toughen up....stand tall...appeal to the voters that he so courted during his campaign.

Unfortunately, when a president takes office they quickly learn the hard reality of politics. They find out that "they cannot change" the way Washington works.

We had high hopes for Mr. Obama....but from everything to Afghanistan, Iraq, the economy to health care he has not stepped up. He has learned the Washington system and is in step with the same old thing.

"Don't Ask, Don't Tell" could be ended by a stroke of his pen....yet he vacillates and has done nothing so far. He has let down the gay community over and over.

Frankly, I see the same old thing....even Bush policies carried out by a much smarter man.

I wonder...will Obama rise above partisan politics and become the President that he promised....or will he fall into the tar pit that all presidents have succumbed to in the past.

D.C. is a hard place to play games....and so far...I am sad to say...Obama is more of the same. He has not produced even ONE of his campaign promises and his State of the Union was just a blame fest.

Mr. President......get going....fulfill your promises and let us move to a new era of Washington politics. Sadly, so far you are just one of the status quo.
