What a great evening, by Bratprince

Last night I had a terrific dinner with my dear friend Margaret Edit Monger, her husband Trip, son Duncan and a group of their friends (a charming family) all from Memphis.  They are here for the Cotton Bowl today.

Margaret is the publisher of AT HOME TENNESSEE magazine in Memphis (however the magazine reaches the whole state).

When I was in Memphis last time on business she went OUT OF HER way to make sure I got the names of all the top designers and even threw a little dinner party for me.  Sadly, that night I had food poisoning, thus I was miserable.

Last night was so terrific because everyone felt so at ease and we all talked up a storm.  I loved her friends and they acted as if they had known me all their lives.

I decided to take them to Y.O. Ranch, which is the restaurant my partner manages.  The restaurant was packed (as always) and the food couldn't have been better.  Y.O. Ranch is known for their bison/buffalo steak (which the Food Channel calls the best in the country).  Almost everyone ordered it and loved it.

I don't usually mix my "business" with Gary's, but I am really glad I did last night.  Everything was just perfect.  Y.O. comped Mararet and her families meal and she will be mentioning them in her magazine.  I was also able to get a copy of my client, Brent Hulls new book to her, so hopefully we can get a feature out of that.

Last night reminded me that just a simple dinner with friends can bring much joy of life.  For Margaret....thanks for being such a friend.  I had a blast.
