Expanding Your Mind, by Bratprince

I hardly carry the mantle of brilliance.  Occasionally, like us all I have a genius idea or two, but my brain parcels them out so that I tend to be surprised when something really great comes to me!  Don't get me wrong, I know that I am smart, clever and have at least a tiny dose of common sense.

A few weeks ago I posted a most interesting article.  Where most people think that our minds start to lose knowledge during middle age, that is a complete myth.  Actually we keep learning at an amazing rate well into our sixties (God hopes so..Gary will be sixty next year and I really don't need a dummy around the house).  I think this new discovery is quite true.

In high school and college I despised almost everything but history, government and my acting classes.  Biology, chemistry, astronomy...almost all of the sciences were pure torture.  I still hate math...always have..always will (except for geometry which for some reason I had an affinity for and actually was the only person in my high school class to solve a problem the teacher put on the board expecting none of us to ever solve it).  Literature was a pain because I ONLY wanted to read what I WANTED to read.

Still, suddenly I find myself at a much (don't push it) older age fascinated by so many things I thought I didn't give a damn about.  Space amazes me.  Archeology has become a passion..everything about the natural world around me has become wonderful and interesting.  I cannot think of anything to credit this to other than my mind is expanding and I am growing to find many things I ignored completely absorbing.  I read everything I can get my hands on now.  I have gone back and read many books that I read begrudgingly in school and now consider a blessing to have read.  Those that know me very personally are aware that my library is beyond expansive.  I feel lucky to literally own an entire library of treasures.

History and politics remain a favorite, but so many other things now draw my interest.

Regarding THE LIFE AND TIMES OF BRATPRINCE, I am fully aware that the eye candy is the draw.  It gets the most "interesting" clicks and the most comments.  However, I truly and deeply hope that my readers check out the other posts...the ones that might seem a bit dull by comparison to a fabulous male model.  I try and stay away from common news....things you can find anywhere, but I do work very hard to present things that I find of most interest and if you read them believe you will too.

There is so much to learn and so little time in our lives.  I wish to experience as much as I can.  As so many of you know my health can be a bit "dicey" at times...thus I am constantly in a rush to learn more.

My wish for my loyal readers, visitors and fans is that you spend some time with the other posts...eye candy is not the be and end all of this BLOG.

I do not wish to be an "educator" thru the BLOG, but I do wish to present a wide and assorted eclectic view from my perspective.  I think if you investigate you will find a whole world of things you may not have thought of.  Check out all the posts and pride yourself as I do by learning something new EVERY DAY!

Your devoted Bratprince

The other night I posted some Disney/Dreamworks animated feature songs. It was a big hit. It is so easy to forget how great these songs and animation were! I miss hand drawn animation!

'OUT THERE' from 'THE HUNCHBACK OF NOTRE' DAME'

(From Bratprince:  This was not a huge hit for DISNEY, but I have enjoyed it for years and at least watch it once a year. Although Quasimodo doesn't get the girl..it is still sweet and touching and the hunchback always tugs at my heartstrings..what a sap I am).

'THE COLORS OF THE WIND' FROM 'POCAHONTAS'

(From Bratprince:  If only we could see the world this way!!  I am tired of mini-malls and the end of the planet as we know it.  STOP NOW)!  I love this song and it shows my beliefs.  I work hard to not take up the resources of our home)!

Scientists Unveil New and Improved Velociraptor Cousin

Astute dino-observers know that Velociraptors actually weren't as scary as Steven Spielberg and Jurassic Park would have you believe. In real life, the dinosaur was the size of a turkey and was probably covered with feathers; comedian Dan Telfer calls it "the Tonya Harding of the dinosaur kingdom." What an image problem! Fortunately, dino scientists have unveiled a newer, tougher dinosaur cousin to burnish Velociraptor's flagging brand. Introducing: Baulor bondoc!
