How Hollywood Shuts Out Gay Actors
Hollywood’s gay elite attacked Ramin Setoodeh when he said the openly gay Sean Hayes was not convincing as a straight man in Promises, Promises. But as the play closes, and 50 years after Sidney Poitier became the first black actor to win an Oscar, no openly gay actor has broken such a barrier, and none have been nominated this year. Setoodeh says the problem isn’t gay actors in straight roles—Hollywood isn’t even allowing gay actors to play gay. Click here.
